Aux outputs will still have the ancillary data and will still cause the projector to lose lock. Unfortunately this usually only applies to the Program and ME outputs of your switcher. Removing the ancillary data blanks out the digital audio and all is happy with the Christie projector. Some switchers have the option to preserve or remove the ancillary data. The SDI feed from HD cameras all contain digital audio whether you want it there or not and the camera cant blank it out. The ancillary data is usually digital audio.

The cards lose lock when you send a mix of sources that may or may not have ancillary data as part of the video signal. This is a design flaw with Christie projector SDI input cards. none of our other points of distribution loose signal either, we have a few other rooms with tv's and/or projectors or varying types and none of them have the same issue. We also have a Barco R12+ with the same signal path and mini converter set up and that has never lost signal. They never do it at the exact same time, but they are not far apart when it happens.Ītem 2ME Switcher // Opengear SDI Distro Card // Compact video hub router // 75' coax HD-SDI Line (Gepco VSD2001) // BMD Mini Converter HD-SDI to HD-Component (no down conversion) // component into the projector.Ĭalled Christie, they say it's BMD, call BMD they say it's Christie. We have yet to only have 1 of them loose signal. The odd thing is that when one goes, they other is soon to follow.

We will go days and sometimes a week or two without it happening and then it will happen randomly. This whole thing happens in about 3 seconds or less. The issue we have is that randomly (I say randomly because there is no one thing that we do or one circumstance that seems to cause it) the projectors will momentarily loose signal and flash black, then regain signal and come back up. We have two Christie DHD-675E projectors. We are using a BMD 2ME switcher with a Compact Video Hub for a router. Having a random and hard to figure out issue.
